Neuromonitoring
Neuromonitoring is a technique used to assess the functional integrity of nerves during surgical procedures. It involves real-time monitoring of neural pathways, typically using techniques like electromyography (EMG).
This monitoring helps ensure the safety of critical structures, minimizes complications, and can lead to better postoperative outcomes by allowing the surgeon to adjust his techniques if nerve function is compromised during the operation.
Surgical procedures using monitoring:
Thyroidectomy/Parathyroidectomy

Tympanomastoidectomies / Cochlear implants / Petrosectomy / Parotidectomy

Temporal Branch
Zygomatic Branch
Buccal Branch
Marginal Branch
Block neck dissection

Cranial Nerve 10 – Vagus nerve
Cranial Nerve 11 – Accessory nerve
Cranial Nerve 12 – Hypoglossal nerve
